IAB Canada has announced the results of its’ 2011 Online Ad Revenue Survey and announced the expected ad spend revenues in 2012. The IAB Canada Online Ad Revenue Survey states that Online Advertising revenues rose 16% to $2.593 billion in 2011, compared to $2.232 billion in 2010. The Survey also estimates Online Ad Revenue will increase to $2.8 billion by the end of 2012. Online Advertising revenue continues to consistently narrow Television’s lead, while pulling further ahead of Newspapers, which experienced a revenue decline of 6% last year. Sheridan College, one of the world’s leading post-secondary institutions focused on digital media storytelling, has announced a partnership with Ubisoft at the opening of Ubisoft Toronto’s state of the art performance capture studio. Sandvine, a Waterloo-based provider of intelligent broadband network solutions for fixed and mobile operators, today announced that it has received over $5 million in Network Policy Control expansion orders for a tier-1 customer in its Asia Pacific sales region. California-based Pinger has announced a new iOS application for Canada. Pinger is a free phone app that turns iPads and iPods into mobile phones and adds a free phone line to iPhones. Digital Domain Media Group, Inc. announced earlier today that it has initiated a strategic realignment that will enable it to focus its resources on its core business, Digital Domain Productions, Inc., a company focused on creating digital visual effects, CG animation and digital production for the entertainment and advertising industries.
