Canadian Digital Media Network Officially Launches Soft-Landing Program

CDMNThe Canadian Digital Media Network (CDMN), in partnership with its nodes across Canada, has announced the official launch of its Soft-Landing Program which enables companies to explore and capitalize on global business opportunities. Participants in the pilot phase of the program have already had success over the past eight months and, with today’s official launch, CDMN announces support for up to 20 companies to participate in the next program round starting in January, 2013. Conference Board Releases Global Competition and Innovation Ranking Report

conference board of canadaCanada’s sliding global competitiveness ranking is due to its weak innovation performance, according to a Conference Board of Canada analysis of World Economic Forum’s Global Competitiveness Index 2012-13. Overall, Canada’s ranking declined to 14th place in 2012 – from 12th place in 2011 and 10th place in 2010. Ontario Startups Receive 5.4M Dollars From Investment Accelerator Fund

MaRSTwelve Ontario companies have received funding from the Investment Accelerator Fund (IAF), bringing the program’s total investment in Ontario’s emerging enterprises to $26.6 million in 57 companies since its inception. As Ontario’s most active seed-stage investor, the IAF helps startups develop their businesses and position them for further investment by angels and venture capitalists.
