Village Gamer

I am very pleased to announce that Village Gamer has forged a new partnership with Canadian Online Gamers, a BC-based videogame review site run by our very good friends Kirby, Trevor and Shad. Through this new partnership, Village Gamer will be carrying reviews of Canadian-made videogame titles written by Canadian Online Gamers. These articles will be cross-posted on both sites, thereby increasing the amount of exposure given to the games. Village Gamer will also be cross-posting on Canadian Online Gamers with original editorial content. Both Kirby and myself see this as a great opportunity for us to assist each other in our common goal of promoting the Canadian videogame development industry, and our first Canadian Online Gamers review will be posted here later today.

Cackleberries CEO Eronne Foster has announced a new joint venture between her Canadian online gaming company and toy manufacturer Mainland China Direct (MCD) in Shenzhen. JOLT, a new technology accelerator for high-growth web and mobile startups in Canada, announced today that it is now a member of the Global Accelerator Network (GAN), an alliance championed by TechStars and originally created as part of the White House’s Startup America Initiative. The Global Accelerator Network includes many of the strongest and most successful independent startup accelerators from across the US and around the world. Following an incredibly productive  MIPTV 2012, Distribution 360 is pleased to announce that it has closed sales for three of its television programs. The Supreme Court of Canada has ruled against Public Mobile in its long-running fight against WIND and the Attorney General. Earlier today the highest court in the land denied Public Mobile leave to appeal an earlier Federal Court of Appeal decision that effectively confirmed WIND’s compliance with the Canadian ownership rules in the Telecom Act. The most common management mistake has an easy remedy: don’t keep employees in the dark. In a new Accountemps survey, 39 per cent of chief financial officers (CFOs) interviewed said lack of communication between staff and management is the most frequent misstep companies make in managing their teams. First among the company’s new capabilities is support for Federal Information Processing Standard 140-2 (FIPS 140-2) validated encryption modules, which are required for encrypting data within Federal organizations.
