Canadian digital media projects will be prominently featured this year at the 7th annual Cross-Media Forum in London, England. Organized by Power to the Pixel, the yearly Conference explores the latest in multi-platform storytelling – from new narrative techniques, to building brands, to engaging today’s interactive audiences – and everything in between. The Bell Broadcast and New Media Fund, Canada Media Fund, Merging Media, National Film Board, Ontario Media Development Corporation and Telefilm Canada have joined efforts to present an impressive lineup of talented Canadian digital media producers and to promote their projects on the world stage in London. Via MPPIA: BC’s Film & Television industry has thrown down the gauntlet across the production community: who can put the most turkey on the Foodbank table? Twenty-two participating productions will encourage donations to the Greater Vancouver Foodbank between September 27 and October 11, 2013– with a community wide goal of $25,000. Ottawa-based embedded user interface (UI) solutions developer Crank Software has been selected by Nintendo to provide the WebKit technology that powers the Nintendo Web Framework. With Crank Software’s WebKit, web developers, in addition to traditional developers, can now use the Nintendo Web Framework to develop their newest games and applications on the Wii U system with the best technologies possible – including HTML5, JavaScript, and CSS.
