Nitobi open sources Complete UI, its popular suite of Ajax-powered user interface components that significantly improve user experiences for any web application

Nitobi [1]VancouverNitobi Inc. [2] announces today that Complete UI–its popular suite of Ajax-powered user interface components–is now available for free. The open source version of Complete UI can be used without charge according to the General Public License (GPL), Version 3 license agreement. Complete UI, including client side JavaScript code as well as the server code for Classic ASP, PHP and Cold Fusion, is publicly available on Google Code and Git Hub. Complete UI is also available for download [3].

Complete UI is a suite of Ajax-powered components that significantly improve user experiences for any web application. Complete UI is designed to help developers build great user experiences on the web. Powered by Ajax, Complete UI off-the-shelf components save developers the time and effort of building their own UI interactions from scratch. Nitobi components have been popular with Ajax developers since Nitobi Grid and ComboBox first launched in 2005.

“Nitobi’s Complete UI is a powerful set of components,” said Michael Lekse, Vice President of Sales and Services at WebAssist.

“We believe open sourcing Complete UI is the best thing for the tool suite,” said Andre Charland, Nitobi CEO. “Not only will the code get better a lot faster with input from the community, but more companies will be able to integrate Complete UI into their sites to dramatically improve user interface design and end user experience.”

Nitobi’s open source version of Complete UI includes:

Nitobi will continue to sell the ASP.Net and Java packages of Complete UI components for integrating the components with servers on those platforms, as well as Adobe Dreamweaver Extensions for quick and intuitive WYSIWYG development with Complete UI components. Nitobi has also introduced a new selection of support packages available for developers working with all versions of Complete UI.

“We’ve invested heavily in the Adobe Dreamweaver Extensions as well as ASP.Net and Java packages and believe they represent unique value over and above the open source Complete UI suite,” said Charland. These products are available for download on Nitobi.com [1], starting at US $299.

The Complete UI suite includes:
